Hazardous Location (Group II)

Home › Hazardous Area Products › Hazardous Area Cable Glands › Hazardous Location (Group II)

Hazardous area cable glands provide a safe way to terminate cables when connecting to increased-safety equipment, for example where there is a risk of fire or explosion due to the surrounding atmosphere.

This may typically involve making a flame-proof termination of the cable, but can also require a gas-proof seal, as well as protection against water and weather ingress.

In the case of Group II hazardous locations, the atmosphere surrounding the equipment may contain combustible and/or conductive dust in a quantity sufficient to represent an explosion or fire hazard.

We stock increased-safety cable glands by respected manufacturers including Hawke and Capri, certified to ATEX/IECEx standards for use in high-risk Group II hazardous areas.

These not only provide the required level of ingress protection against dust, water, gas and other contaminants, but can also physically reinforce the connection of the cable at the terminal, protecting against twisting, deformation and accidental disconnection.

Find out more about any of our Group II hazardous location cable glands by downloading the datasheets on each product’s page, or contact Cable Systems if you have any questions and we will be happy to help.
