This year’s Offshore Technology Conference (OTC 2019) marks a major milestone in the event’s long history of showcasing the latest leading-edge offshore industrial products.
First launched in 1969, this year is the 50th anniversary of the OTC conference, which will officially open for its golden year on May 6th-9th.
It is a chance for representatives from across the offshore industrial products sector to come together and celebrate the latest progress in areas like environmental protection, offshore drilling, exploration and production.
Last year over 2,000 companies from more than 40 different countries exhibited at the event, with 23 international pavilions.
More than 60,000 people from over 100 countries attended the show, which spanned more than half a million square feet of indoor exhibition space and outdoor demonstrations.
OTC 2018 was the 50th time the conference had been staged – with events in both 1969 and 2019, this year’s show will be the 51st.
But May 6th will still mark a major milestone for the sector as the start of the official Golden Anniversary conference, ahead of May 18th which marks exactly 50 years since OTC 1969 first opened its doors.
