ATEX equipment boosts global signal conditioning market

This entry was posted in hazardous area equipment on by .

ATEX equipment in the European region is adding to overall global growth in the signal conditioning market, according to a market analysis from ReportsnReports.

In 2015 the market was already worth an estimated $560 million, and this is forecasted to rise to $817.5 million by 2022 at a compound annual growth rate of 5.46%.

Within the European Union and nations that participate in the European Free Trade Association, ATEX equipment is covered by one regional directive, while this is comparable with others like the C-Tick marking directive in Australia.

Together, these regional markets combine to create a healthy picture on a global scale, driven by demand from energy and power, water and wastewater, and from the food and beverages industry.

“The SCM market for process control applications is expected to grow at the highest rate during the forecast period,” the report states.

“Signal conditioners in process control applications separate the supply voltage from the input and output circuits and enable the analogue circuit to operate with one operating voltage.”

The separation of input and output signals means circuitry is protected against damage from excessive voltages, providing extra security for ATEX equipment in electrically sensitive hazardous areas.
