Eaton’s Crouse-Hinds series of LED lighting for heavy industrial and hazardous environments saves on size and weight, as well as on the energy consumed in providing illumination, according to the manufacturer.
The line-up includes Champ Pro PFM LED lighting, full-spectrum floodlit luminaires for heavy industrial use, which operate at anywhere from -40 to 55C.
A rated life span of up to 60,000 hours means there is less need to access the luminaires in order to replace them frequently, and they do not contain any mercury or other potentially harmful chemicals often found in bulbs.
Tom Wooldridge, LED product line manager at Eaton, said: “Eaton’s Crouse-Hinds series technology is delivering the next generation of illumination and efficiency across oil and gas, mining and other industrial environments to further reduce cost of ownership and complexity.
“Our latest technology delivers up to 72% energy savings compared to traditional high-intensity discharge (HID) floodlights and is 25% smaller and weighs less than earlier generation solutions.”
The LED luminaires are solid-state, with no glass components or filaments, and this helps to make them resistant to vibration and sudden shocks, reducing the risk of failure in very active heavy industrial settings.
